MassJam 2008 - Replies Needed By Friday

We need to hear from all of you ASAP please.

Mass Jam Weekend, October 11-13, 2008 (Saturday thru Monday)

Troop 7 has committed to attending but we need a firm head count for scouts AND adult leaders ASAP in order to give Council office our headcount.

Please send an email to Gini Baumiller, vbaumiller@comcast.net, ASAP and indicate if YOU ARE OR ARE NOT interested in attending.  She is recording replies for Chris Mitchell and Ernie Guy.

The cost of this trip is estimated at $35, much of which covers the per person rate we need to pay Mass Jam.  Feel free to use your scout accounts.  Get in touch with Bill Parker if you have a question about your account balance.

July 26th - August 4th, 2010

Visit http://www.bsajamboree.org/visitor.html to get a preliminary glimpse at what's in store for you in Fort A. P. Hill, VA.  This web site just stood up, so stay tuned for when the activities and exhibits pages are complete.  Adult leaders will have a jamboree presentation available at Squanto during week 6 summer camp and scouts along with thier families may attend a presentation and info session this Fall to get the scoop and get all your questions answered regarding our 2010 adventure.

Questions in the mean time...please see Mr. Johns at a Tuesday night Troop 7 summer event.

Attention Parents & Scouts - New BSA Uniform

Boy Scout uniforms are getting a facelift in 2008 in preparation for the centennial of Boy Scouting.  Available in mid-August, the new uniform boasts high-performance, multifunctional new shirts and pants that will look great at everything from ceremonies to getting out--hiking, camping, and community service.

If you are wearing out or growing out of your current uniform and looking for replacements, purchasing the new uniform after it's August 2008 release is fine but you DO NOT have to buy a new uniform just because they become available this year.  The intent is to make the new uniforms available in plenty of time for the 2010 National Jamboree.  Troop 7 will phase them in over time and during the transition will have scouts and adults wearing both old and new style uniforms.

About Us

Welcome to troop7.net, the website for Troop 7 of Foxboro, Massachusetts! We invite you to look around and see what scouting is all about, Troop 7 style. Start with the gallery to see the trips we've taken and community service projects we've done. Browse the schedule to see what we've done and what we're planning for the next quarter. And feel free to e-mail us if you'd like to learn more. Troop 7 meets at the Bethany Church in Foxboro, MA on Friday nights from 7:00 to 9:00.

"Empowering boys to be leaders is the core of Scouting. Scouts learn by doing, and what they do is lead their patrols and their troop. The boys themselves develop a troop’s program, then take responsibility for figuring out how they will achieve their goals.”

Excerpted from the Scoutmaster Handbook 1998

The goal of Troop 7 is to have fun. We promise to try our very best to make every step of your journey organized, safe and fun - led by boys, using the patrol method, under the advisement of adults. Here at Troop 7 you will gain physical, mental, emotional and moral fitness, and you will learn to live the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
